Dear UNC Foundation Board of Directors,
I am so excited and honored to be the recipient of the Cross Family Memorial Scholarship! This scholarship means so much to me and my family. It is just me and my daughter so financially it has been hard on us while I am completing the SPED Generalist Masters Program. Receiving this scholarship has been truly rejuvenating!
My goal for the program is to work with general education teachers in my district (Boulder Valley School District) to feel more comfortable and equipped to teach students with disabilities in their classroom. I am currently taking a class with Dr. Lewis Jackson and I am learning so much about the massive importance of inclusion.
Thank you so much for this amazing contribution to my education! I am so grateful as this scholarship is so generous! Not only has receiving it empowered me to continue on the path toward fulfilling my goals, it has reminded me of the model I am being to my daughter. Thank you again!
